Serenata Care acquires third Dorset site with HSBC backing

A seven-figure funding package from HSBC has enabled a family-run care company to acquire a third site.

Dorset-based Serenata Care has purchased Two Cedars Care Home in Broadstone, next door to Park Lodge Care Home which the business already owns.

The company’s portfolio is rounded out by the Abbey Rose Residential Care Home in Ringwood, meaning Serenata is now able to look after the needs of 17 residents.

Two Cedars provides residential care for adults over 65 years.

On a daily basis, the residents benefit from coordinated activities, hairdresser and chiropodist services and freshly prepared individually focused meals.

The acquisition of the 7,114 sq ft Two Cedars ensures the continuity of its services to its residents, overseen by a team of 25 carers.

The business hopes to boost capacity of the new care home to accommodate more residents, while further developing the skills of its team. As a result of the acquisition, it anticipates an increase in turnover of 10 per cent in the next year.

Vimla Heeroo, director at Serenata Care, said: “My passion for care started 25 years ago when I first became a nurse.

“Thanks to HSBC UK’s support, I’ve been able to fulfil our family’s dream of expanding our presence in Dorset and offering care to more local residents.

“It’s been over 15 years since I bought our first home, and with the support of HSBC, I’ve been able to continue my love for what I do.”

Molly Jahans, business banking relationship manager at HSBC UK, added: “It’s great to see Serenata Care adding a third care home to their collection, with the funding from HSBC.

“This expansion means more people in our community can access much needed quality care services.”

The deal came through HSBC’s newly launched commercial broker scheme.

Under the new scheme, accredited commercial finance brokers will be able to provide business leads to HSBC UK’s relationship managers.
